Where to actually buy Shibuya Sky tickets

The official site is cheapest. That is not in dispute. What the platforms sell you is language, currency and the ability to book everything in one place.

People search for “klook shibuya sky” because they want to know whether a platform is a better idea than buying direct. The honest answer has several parts.

The short version

The official site is cheapest. No serious comparison says otherwise.

Platforms sell convenience, not price. Language, currency, and the ability to book several things at once.

Nobody can beat the two-week window. It applies to every channel.

The four routes

1. The official website

Adult, booked online in advance: ¥2,700 before 15:00, ¥3,400 from 15:00. Checked on the official ticket page on 3 September 2026.

Advantages

  • The lowest price
  • Precise time slots
  • Access to official-only products such as THE ROOF sofa seating

Limitations

  • Nothing beyond fourteen days
  • Cannot be combined with other activities
  • Charged in yen

Use it if your dates are settled and the booking flow is not a problem.

2. Klook

Advantages

  • Multiple languages and currencies
  • Karts, sumo shows and workshops can go in the same basket
  • Its Shibuya Sky listing showed 4.7 from more than 46,000 reviews and over three million bookings on 3 September 2026

Limitations

  • Can cost more than the official site
  • Bound by the same fourteen-day inventory

Use it if you are booking from abroad and putting several Shibuya activities together. Managing everything in one place is worth a few hundred yen when you are organising a trip remotely.

3. GetYourGuide

Its strength in Shibuya is guided tours rather than standalone entry.

  • Daytime walking tours — 4.9 from 672 reviews
  • Night walking tours — 4.9 from 132 reviews
  • Evening tours including deck entry — 4.7 from 145 reviews, and others

Use it if you want a guide, or if entry has sold out and you need an operator’s allocation. See tours and guides.

4. The ticket desk

Adult: ¥3,000 before 15:00, ¥3,700 from 15:00. ¥300 more per person than online.

The only route for child tickets — ¥1,200, primary school age including 12-year-olds, same day only.

The problem: if adult tickets have sold out online, the desk has none either. There is no scenario where showing up unbooked saves you anything.

The two-week window applies to everyone

This is the most misunderstood point.

Standalone entry opens fourteen days before your date on every channel. No platform can create inventory earlier. If a site appears to be selling a date further out, it is a tour with allocated entry, not a plain ticket.

That distinction matters, because tours cost more, run to a fixed schedule, and give you a set amount of time on the deck.

When it is sold out

Look for a tour that includes entry.

Operators hold allocation separately from public inventory, so tours are frequently still available when individual tickets have gone. You pay more than face value — but “more expensive” is a better outcome than “not going”.

Alternatives

  • MAG8, the rooftop of MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 — much cheaper, near-overhead view of the Crossing. See viewpoints
  • A different slot — sunset may be gone while mornings or 20:00 onwards are not. Last entry is 21:20

Cancellation terms matter more than price

Worth checking properly.

  • Standalone entry tickets — often non-changeable and non-refundable
  • Guided tours — frequently free cancellation up to 24 hours

If your plans might shift, or if the weather could close the rooftop, that difference is worth more than the difference in price.

Resale

Be cautious with any listing above face value.

Entry is by timed slot and the venue sets the terms. Buy from the official site or an established platform. Note also that opening hours and pricing change during seasonal events, so a listing may not reflect current conditions.

Sources

Official prices, opening hours and the sales window come from the official Shibuya Scramble Square ticket page, checked on 3 September 2026. Platform ratings, review counts and booking volumes are the values shown on those platforms’ pages the same day.

This site sells no tickets and is not affiliated with Shibuya Sky, Shibuya Scramble Square or any sales platform. Booking buttons open the platform’s own pages, and if you book through them we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

Guide tips

Buy direct if your dates are fixed and you read the form

The official site is the cheapest route and nobody should pretend otherwise. If you can work through the booking flow and your dates are settled, buy direct.

Use a platform when you're bundling

Booking a deck slot, a go-kart session and a sumo show from overseas, in your own currency, in one basket is worth a few hundred yen. That is what you are actually paying for.

No platform beats the two-week window

Inventory opens fourteen days before your date on every channel. A site that appears to offer a date beyond that is selling a tour with allocated entry, not a standalone ticket.

Read the cancellation terms, not the price

Standalone entry tickets are frequently non-changeable. Guided tours often allow free cancellation up to 24 hours. If your plans might move, that difference matters more than the fare.

Checked in practice

What works

  • Several genuine routes, so you can optimise for price or for convenience
  • Platforms remove the language and currency friction
  • Tours give access to allocation that individual sales do not
  • Cancellation terms are often better on guided products

What to watch out for

  • Platform prices can exceed the official site
  • Every channel shares the same 14-day inventory window
  • Child tickets cannot be bought online at all
  • Resale listings above face value should be treated with caution

FAQ

Is Klook cheaper than the official Shibuya Sky site?
Generally no. The official site is the cheapest route at ¥2,700 or ¥3,400 for adults booked online in advance. What Klook offers is booking in your own language and currency, and bundling other Shibuya activities into one transaction.
Does GetYourGuide sell Shibuya Sky tickets?
It is strong on guided tours in Shibuya, including evening tours that include observation-deck entry, rather than standalone entry tickets. If you want a guided walk with the deck included, that is the route; for entry alone, use the official site or Klook.
Can any site sell me a date more than two weeks out?
Not for a standalone entry ticket. Inventory opens fourteen days before the entry date and no reseller can create it earlier. A listing that appears to offer a further-out date is a tour with allocated entry, not a plain ticket.
What if everything is sold out?
Look for a guided tour that includes entry. Tour operators hold allocation separately from public inventory, so they frequently still have space. It costs more than a standalone ticket, but it is the difference between going and not going.
Can I buy child tickets online?
No. Child tickets — primary school age including 12-year-olds — are sold only at the ticket desk on the day, at ¥1,200. Preschoolers aged 6 and under go free. Families buy adult tickets in advance and add children at the window.
What about resale sites?
Be cautious with any listing above face value. Entry is by timed slot and the venue sets the conditions. Buy from the official site or an established platform.
Which should I use?
Fixed dates and comfortable with the booking flow: the official site. Booking from abroad or bundling several activities: Klook. Wanting a guide, or entry has sold out: a tour that includes it.
